Loot Crates (Store item/gambling)

What are Loot Crates?
Loot crates are physical items purchased through the store or traded by other players that can contain several different packages/items/souls such as;

random prizes
titles (new ones, exclusive to crates such as [LUCKY!] and other ones in the store
pets (including the fabled iron golem)
backpacks (ranging from 9 slot to 54 slot, larger ones being more rare)
microblocks (chance to receive a set of microblocks!)
exp-boosts (auto-triggered exp boosts ranging from 100% to 500%)
items (such as dragon eggs, portals and other EXP gaining items)
random-staff-skull (elite!)
loot crate multiplication x2 or x3
next-tier (very rare chance to obtain tier 9)
grand prizes (such as bulk titles/bulk pets, rare pets, such as witherskull etc)
... and more!

consolation prizes
tissue / gem / food - consolation tokens
random status effect
single microblocks
mojang skulls
...and surprises!

Will crates be tradable?
Yes, at this time Loot Crates are physical items, so be careful with your crate! There are NO refunds.

When is this coming?

It'll be chance based. It will also allow us to add other things to it.

It's suppose to be a fun method to help the server while obtaining some rare or maybe even some high cost things :)

btw, the 5 dollar base has a chance to get you some crap like 50souls right? Completely chance based?

right, we arent handing out souls with every purchase - there's a chance to obtain them though. To appease people spending money, we may give a default item if we can, just to state they purchased a crate. Something like "... and all i got was this item!"

Thats cool. I think if the buyer got a chest or something that was specially named "loot crate", that'd be incentive enough for me.

Yeah, thats partly the goal.

Now im unsure if we want to split this up into amount of crates (1=$5, 3= $14, 10=$45) - or should we make it so the lesser / normal / greater crates vary in cost but the lesser crates cant have the super high cost items...

the choices are endless just about.

Is there anyway to tie this in with rare items? Include preferably high level rare's with the loot.

Well, either he can start it later or improve it later.
I'd bet it's just random items at first and then fancy chests later.

Do you think having souls be in the crates would be pay2win? You could technically buy currency.

Well with 50s being the minimal, If you want to pay $5 for 50 souls+ That's your choice than lol. Id rather just spend my time voting for 10-200 souls daily. (but maybe drop it to 25 so not p2w for ppl that apparently won RL lotto >_>)


But I like the idea of a minecraft grab bag. I used to hose auctions like this with chests in past lifetime. 50 chests ranging from dirt to crap ton of stuff. Some win some lose :)
