Suggestion Castle Conquest - Township PvP Objectives

We like Townships. We always have! Here's the system I want in for Friday.

There are FOUR castles placed around HeavensWatch - They will be nearish Herogates. These castles will have a center point / home chunk that is claimable when a township member stands in them. Claiming is interrupted once another township player of another township comes into the home chunk. When a township claims a castle (can only have one) they get passive bonuses to exp, rewards every minecraft day (similar to Township production) and a bonus amount of township productions while they have it claimed.


TLDR
4 Castles to Capture
Passive Rewards to those Townships
Alerts when your Castle is under attack/claim
Server Announcements stating castles have been captured
Passive EXP Increase
Rewards every MC tick/day (going to the town bank)
Limit 1 castle per Township

Maybe all 4 castles give different things, so that townships will attempt to claim as many castles as possible rather than defending 1 castle. For example, castle 1 can give a passive experience boost, castle 2 can give rewards every mc day, castle 3 can give a buff as long as the castle is captured, etc.

Granted, variety in them may still be good, to give some sort of choice in what they're going after, but owning them all is explicitly not the point.

I honestly think they should have all the same reward, or at least rewards that are very very close in value. If some are obviously more beneficial than others, it might encourage a bunch of pvp around that 1 castle, rather than spreading it over the four. While this will be fun for a while, it would probably ultimately come down to whichever party runs the most healers will keep the castle.[/QUOTE]

i really like the idea of this. I think all should probably have same reward but open to other ideas. I think once claimed a castle should not be able to be captured again for at least an hour or so, can place them on a rotation as to when they can be captured so one is active at least every hour (maybe every 30 mins).

Theres 25 different Biome materials, we could split them up by 4's.

Is this what you meant by having an objective, Dakinara?

yeah i think this is a really good idea, only question i have is best timing for how long it should take to cap a location, and how long until it becomes capturable again. Otherwise sounds great.

an hour is stupid, they should only be captured 2-3 times a day at MOST

How about a competition to see who can build the best looking town. Or is PVP the only way a town can gain prestige?

an hour is stupid, they should only be captured 2-3 times a day at MOST

well, there is like no pvp atm so they should be somewhat active IMO. I could see each castle becoming capturable every 4 hours, each alternating so one of the four is capturable each hour, would be a pretty nice balance I think.

if each castle were capturable twice a day, and the castles became capturable on an alternating schedule, that would make one capturable every 3 hours basically. I guess that would be fine if its what kainzo prefers, the important part is they need to be capturable on an alternating schedule or there will basically be no pvp, people will split up and four big towns will each take a castle with no opposition which would be pretty lame.

eh, im not a fan of that slow given the lack of other things to do on the server atm for people not interested in leveling / legendary classes. This type of game only thrives when a lot of people are online, if people only have incentive to be on twice a day for pvp (or really most likely once a day given time zones), i dont think it will keep player numbers much higher than current. We have a very passive town biome system that doesnt incentivize actively playing much to expand towns, id hate to see the pvp system be that passive as well.

As I said, doing conquest points every hour will become extremely excessive and tiring doing it constantly over and over again every day. It will reach a point where no one goes to them or they are farmed by one person.

You have to look at the long term future not just the present on what will help now.

So are we talking about having 4 castles but only two go "open" for capture each day?

I think every 6 hours a single castle would open to be capturable.
Desert Castle > 10AM
Frost Castle > 4PM
Lava Castle > 10PM
Wood Castle > 4AM
